The Taekwondo competition will run in conjunction with the Wrestling competition. The weigh in will be on 6th August at the Shankill Leisure Centre.
The Centre will be the martial arts hub with Wrestling and Taekwondo sharing the hall once the Judo and Karate events are finished.

The venue for Taekwondo is the Shankill Leisure Centre. The venue is located in West Belfast and is just a 20 minute walk from the city centre. The leisure centre offers a spacious, air-conditioned gym and a 22 metre pool. Group activities such as five-a-side football, netball, basketball, uni-hockey, table tennis and badminton take place in the main hall and courts.

FAQs - Poomsae
What do I need to compete in the Poomsae event?
You need to be a member of the WPFG Federation, a licensed member of the recognised World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) governing body for your country (for UK participants this is British Taekwondo) and a Kukkiwon holder for Black belt divisions.
What kind of uniform do I need to compete?
A World Taekwondo Federation recognised uniform. V-neck or Poomsae competition uniform are accepted.
What is the pair division?
The pair division is made up of one female and one male competitor.
1st pair - 18 -29yrs
2nd pair - 30+
What is the team division?
The team divisions are female team (each team must have 3 females) and male teams (each team must have 3 males)
1st team - 18-29yrs
2nd team - 30+
What are the Poomsae rules?
The rules used will be World Taekwondo Federation international Poomsae rules; cut off system.
What are the medals for each division?
There will be medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
Who will be judging the divisions?
The black belt divisions will be judged by WTF international Poomsae judges.
The Kup grade divisions will be judged by national level qualified judges.

Will Electronic Body Protector systems be used?
Daedo Electronic Body Protector system will be used for all athletes competing.
Athletes must bring their own Daedo socks. If you do not have these socks, please contact marketing@daedo.com
What is the standard of referees?
Highly experienced and qualified Centre Referees and Corner Judges from British Taekwondo will be officiating.
