Belfast is now a hub of low-cost flights with its two major airports, Belfast International Airport, and George Best Belfast City Airport servicing numerous routes to major cities in the UK, Europe, United States and Canada, a number that is growingall the time. There is also the City of Derry airport based in the North West whichoffers scheduled flights to Alicante, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Dublin, Stansted and Luton. There are great-value flights to Belfast from many regional airports in the United Kingdom, with a journey time of one hour. Flights from Europe are also of a short duration and are also remarkably good value. Dublin International Airport and Shannon International Airport have routes to most countries in the world, again including many low-cost flights and routes to many destinations in the US and Canada.
Over the past year alone many new direct flights have been introduced from countries around the world to Belfast. Airlines operating to Belfast/City of Derry include: Continental Airlines, Ryanair, BMI, Flybe, Easyjet, BMI Baby, Aer Lingus, Jet2, Aer Arann and Manx2.
Getting to Belfast
It couldn’t be easier or quicker to get to the heart of Belfast from its two Belfast airports. George Best Belfast City Airport is situated just three miles from the City
Centre. A regular bus service operates to the City Centre bus station at the Europa Hotel and the journey time is approximately ten minutes. Belfast International Airport is situated 17 miles north of the city and is served by a regular bus service, which operates every ten minutes to and from the city centre. The journey time is approximately 35 minutes. For those delegates flying into Dublin International Airport the onward journey to Belfast takes approximately 90 minutes by road, with regular and direct coach transfers running from the airport to Belfast. The duration of the journey is approximately two hours. There is also a high-speed rail link with trains departing every hour between Dublin and Belfast. Shannon Airport is located in the mid-west of Ireland and is approximately 4 hours drive to Belfast.
An efficient rail network extends throughout Northern Ireland with fast connections between its town and cities’ meaning no journey lasts more than 90 minutes.

There are several ferry routes operating between Scotland and England and
Belfast. Offering a quick, comfortable and good-value service they take passengers right into the heart of the city.
